Hand-Poured in Victoria Park, Perth: Every candle is made in small batches at our studio in Victoria Park, just 4km from the Perth CBD, where we control every step of the process from fragrance blending to final cure. Perth’s low humidity in winter is excellent for curing soy wax quickly and cleanly, but our summers are a different story. Above 35 degrees, natural soy wax softens enough that sculptural florals can lose their petal definition during shipping. We solved this by using a slightly harder wax blend for summer batches and packing all floral orders in insulated satchels from November through March.
Natural Soy Wax: We source cosmetic-grade soy wax and blend our own fragrance ratios rather than using pre-mixed solutions. After testing over thirty fragrance load percentages, we settled on 10% for our florals and 8% for the coffee range because soy throws scent differently once wax is sculpted into a three-dimensional shape versus poured flat. The "Behind the Pour" Section: Maker's Note
The question we are asked most often is whether our flowers are real. They are not. Every petal on a Krisha Essence sculptural candle is hand-shaped from dyed soy wax, one layer at a time, at a precise temperature that keeps the wax pliable enough to curl without tearing. We mention this upfront because it matters to the way you use them.
Real preserved flowers decay. Our wax peonies, roses, and lily of the valley blooms do not. They hold their shape for years if kept out of direct sunlight and away from Perth’s summer heat. Each floral piece takes between forty minutes and two hours to build, depending on petal count. A full peony has between eighteen and twenty-two individual wax petals, each pulled from a heated sheet and shaped by hand while still soft.
We developed this technique in 2024 after Soniya trained in cold-porcelain floral art and adapted the shaping method to wax behaviour. The two materials behave very differently when warm. Wax has a much narrower working window, roughly four to seven minutes depending on room temperature, which in a Perth summer means we often work with the studio air conditioning set lower than comfortable just to extend that window by a minute or two.
Every sculptural candle is a functional object. The floral top is removable on most designs so you can burn the candle beneath and keep the wax art as a decorative piece indefinitely. We design it this way because we wanted people to feel comfortable actually lighting them.

Our Mission
We started Krisha Essence because we kept buying candles that smelled beautiful in the shop and burned flat at home. We wanted to fix that, first for ourselves, then for anyone else who had given up on finding a candle worth the price.
Our actual mission is narrower than most brands will admit: to make things in our Victoria Park studio that we would genuinely buy ourselves. That means fragrance that holds through the full burn, not just the cold throw in the jar. It means wax florals built to last longer than a real bouquet. And it means being honest when something does not work, like the twelve versions of our peony that crumbled in Perth’s summer heat before we got the wax formula right for WA conditions.
